Founded 5 years ago, Ye Olde Sandwich Shoppe has grown into a Bay Area favorite! We operate 17 stores in San Francisco, Daly City, Oakland, Half Moon Bay, and San Jose. Last year, our stores generated nearly $35 million dollars in revenues. We employ 680 people at our stores, 43 people at our commissary in Half Moon Bay, and another 55 at our headquarters, also in Half Moon Bay.

Our high-quality, freshly made sandwiches, along with a modest selection of alternative menu items (such as soups and salads), are a healthy alternative to traditional fast food. We believe our products are great at breakfast, lunch or dinner! We start with fresh ingredients to make delicious soups, tossed-to-order salads, bakery products, and made-to-order sandwiches.

Each of our stores features an atmosphere that is best described as California casual, but tailored to the environment it is in. Our downtown city stores are typically more modern and reflect an urban, loft-esque environment. Our suburban stores feature hardwood floors, a brick fireplace and classical music playing softly in the background. While our costal Half Moon Bay flagship location is mission themed. These unusual, yet casual environments blend fast, wholesome food choices with a relaxing setting for our guests.

This instructional design case study was designed by Mr. Peter Thorsett under the direction of Dr. Laurie B. Dias for use with Instructional Technology 7100 at Georgia State University. All on-going maintenance of the site is done by Mr. Thorsett.
