Personal Gallery

I have a very limited selection of original comic book art, and even less of it scanned. As I'm able to scan the pictures, I'll put up the pieces. Click on individual pieces to view a larger scan.

The majority of my collection centers on my love of Spider-Man, although I have other pieces and hope to have more original pieces.

Original painting by Andy Lee
Page from Untold Tales of Spider-Man #13, p. 9 by Pat Oliffee
More to come!
This is one of my favorites pieces. I love the rich color and the pose Spidey is in. I have another great Andy Spider-man piece.

Convention Sketches
All the sketches below were done at Charlotte Heroes Con
Richard Case was polite enough to do this great sketch of Cliff Steele from his and Grant Morrison's run on Doom Patrol In the upper left corner he wrote "Best Wishes to Michael!" (2003) I love this sketch that Greg Schigiel did of Batman. Greg has done What If? and Generation X, although I admit I was unfamiliar with him prior to the con. A nice and funny guy, my best wishes to him for good barbeque, pie, and more high profile work. (2004)

This year (2004) John Cassady was kind enough not only to sign books for a large crowd, but he also drew sketches for everybody that requested. Here is a very cool one of Elijah Snow from Planetary. It was incredible to see him draw this, starting with the shadow and the face forming from the negative space. Powers has to be one of all time favorite books and possibly the best thing being published today. This is in no small part due to Mike Avon Oeming's artwork. Here is a fantastic sketch of Christian Walker from the book. Mike is a super cool guy. The spots are "ground texture" or "blood" according to Mike. (2004)

I asked Rick Leonardi for a quick sketch and this is what he came up with. I don't read Batgirl, but thanks for the sketch!
