Web Projects

This area of the technology microsite details my work experience with both small and large scale web based projects. The projects are listed below and a brief summary and screen shot of the project is provided. If possible, a link to the completed project has been provided.

World Wide Web Site for the Management Division of AECT

make this image bigger The Management Division of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology commissioned this new website as a way of improving communications with its current membership, providing information to practitioners in the field, and encourage prospective members to join the organization and the division. This site was launched in late 2003 and was later consolidated into the parent organization's portal site.

World Wide Web Site for the Institute of Public Health at Georgia State

make this image bigger This project was implemented to give the Institute of Public Health at Georgia State University a clean and polished web presence while an entirely new site was designed. The Institute had been caught between the launch of a new Master of Public Health degree and the need to fully develop a marketing and electronic communications plan. This temproary website carried them through that transition period. This site was launched in January of 2004.

World Wide Web Site for the College of Law at Georgia State University

make this image bigger This project involved the complete redesign and reorganization of the original web presence of the College of Law. Over 1500 pages were reviewed, redesigned, and reclassified into one of five primary portal sites (Prospective Students, Current Students, Faculty & Staff, Alumni, or Community Services). The site was relaunched in the Summer of 2001 and was in production through 2004.

Classroom Support Site for the College of Law at Georgia State University

make this image bigger This project involved the development of unique webpages for each of the College of Law's new Smart Classrooms. Included on each classroom specific page was information about the status of the room, the equipment in the room, links to how-to guides, and links to on-line support request forms. Each of the how-to guides contain step-by-step instructions on how to use the equipment as well as pictures to illustrate the steps. As project manager, my role included design of the layout and coordinating with the primary programmer what content to include or create. This site was developed in 2002.

Corporate Human Resources Intranet Site

make this image bigger This project involved the creation of an intranet site using Active Server Pages technology linked to a Microsoft Access 2000 database. The company collected nearly 75 different documents and manuals for digitization. The site included human resources, information technology, orientation, benefits, and community service programs information. The site was launched in the second quarter of 2000.

Facility Department Self-Service Site

make this image bigger This project required the creation of an internal use site driven by Active Server Pages linked to a SQL Server database. The site was designed to allow employees of the firm to file work order requests via the intranet without having to place a phone call or physically visit the facilities department office. The site was launched in the first quarter of 2000.

ATi Corporate World Wide Web Site

make this image bigger This website was developed as a corporate web presence site for ATi and included both static HTML elements and Flash element integration. It contained four primary customer sub-webs and five primary corporate information sub-webs. Some areas were also driven by Active Server Pages linked to an Access 2000 backend (such as current employment opportunities). The site was launched in 1999.

TheXing.com Corporate World Wide Web Site

make this image bigger TheXing.com was a used clothing retailer based in Atlanta, Georgia. The web presence site that I designed for them included corporate information elements, an on-line retailing component, and a customer information access system for use by the firm's customer service agents and their fulfillment operations. The site launched in late 1999.

Course Learning Module: "Bioethics & The Law"

make this image bigger Bioethics and the Law is a course that is taught at the College of Law at Georgia State University. The site was designed after the faculty member had gathered the requisite content and information. Each of the courses units had a corresponding web module that included links to other resources, web-based video clips, and some had integrated links into Westlaw or Lexis/Nexis for relevant case histories. The course was taught during the Spring Semester of 2001. View this site.

Course Learning Website: "Research, Writing, & Advocacy"

make this image bigger The Research, Writing, and Advocacy program (RWA) at Georgia State's College of Law is a mandatory two-semester program for all incoming law students. The website was designed to facilitate the distribution of information, assignments, handouts, presentations, and other course materials to all of the students enrolled in the program (typically 200 students a semester). The site was launched in the Fall Semester 2000 and is updated annually. View this site.

Student Organization Website: The Black Law Students Association

make this image bigger The BLSA (Black Law Students Association) is a student organization recognized by the College of Law at Georgia State University. The organization wanted to update its web presence in the Fall of 2001 and so a new site was designed around the organization's new logo and branding campaign. The new site was launched in mid-Fall 2001.
