FYI: Web requests are often processed more quickly. All applications must be received in the NYAC office no later than March 1, 2004.

Call for Workshop Proposals
Most of NYAC Summit programming is suggested and facilitated by folks like YOU! If you've got an idea for a workshop, caucus, facilitated session or other programming, send us your proposal. We particularly encourage workshops by youth. Electronic submissions must be received March 30, 2004. For more information, contact joseph@nyacyouth.org or by calling 202-319-7596 x12.

Sponsorship Opportunities
Help support youth attending the Summit through sponsorship! Sponsorship dollars go directly toward scholarships and conference costs. Here are some examples of how YOU can help to build a Generation of Impact!

Tabling: Display your organization's services to LGBTQ youth and adult activists

Program Advertising: Reserve an ad space in NYAC's Summit Program

Sponsorship: Sponsor workshops, special events, summit backpack, scholarships and more!

Fundraising Ideas

Fundraising can be fun and profitable. Here is list of ideas to help get you started!

Art Exhibition and Sale: Many local artists and galleries may be eager to donate original artworks to organizations to sell or sell works with a percentage of the proceeds going to your organization.

Party/Dance: Simply secure a venue and music for your target audience, allies and their families. The ticket price will depend on the venue and DJ.

Car Wash: Offer to wash cars for a small fee at a local gas station or any business that will allow you to use their facilities for free or no cost.

Concert: Ask local bands to play a concert and donate a percentage of the ticket money to your group.

Dog Walking: Plenty of dog owners don't always have time or the energy to walk their dogs. This is a great opportunity for you to step in and organize the youth to offer their services as dog walkers. It can be done daily or weekly depending on the interest that you generate in the community.

Movie Premieres: Approach a local movie theater and ask them to donate a percentage of takings from an opening night of a youth oriented film. After the agreement is made work with your youth to advertise the evening and make sure that the theater is packed. It may also be a good time to ask for individual donations in the lobby of the theater if you are allowed.

Super Rummage Sale: Everything old can be new again. Collect old clothing, furniture, books and other random items from as many people as possible and set up a rummage sale in a prime location for foot traffic. Be prepared to negotiate as well as to sell items as packages to ensure that you arent left with anything at the end of the day.

Gift Wrapping: During the holiday season get a creative group together and supply them with the basic materials to do gift-wrapping. Charge based on the number items and their size.

Flower Sale: It is best to do this around Valentine's Day or Mothers Day. Purchase directly from a wholesale flower distributor and mark the price up. If you can, take advance orders so that you do not over buy.

Raffle: Hold a 50/50 raffle in which the winner gets half of all the money collected and your organization keeps the other half. Another raffle idea is to get a local business to donate a nice product for you to raffle. Their incentive is that their business will get free publicity from your organization spreading the word about who is donating the fabulous prize. But before conducting a raffle it is best to check the local gaming laws.

Dessert Buffet: For a flat fee provide a variety of homemade baked goods along with coffee, tea or punch.

Have a Safe and Happy New Year!
